Grand Canyon Railway

On my trip to Vegas, I was fortunate enough to take part in a trip to the Grand Canyon. I have been to the Grand Canyon before, but on the North Rim, this time around I am excited to take the railway and see the trip through a new perspective.

The initial trip started from Mandalay Bay hotel which tool about 3-4 hours. The scenic route is something that all people should experience. From the majestic desert landscape to the enormous boulders spread throughout the land. It's a benefit to those who travel to the Grand Canyon to drive or ride through. Stopping at little towns on the way can also add to the trip. These towns are filled with souvenirs and trinkets from the residents to native Indian tribes that populate the lands.

Learning from our guides about the various Indian tribes was so interesting. Each of the tribes - Hopi, Yavapati,
Gave light to the history of the Grand Canyon.

As we continued to Williams, AZ where the Grand Canyon Railway operates from, you can see the rural town of cowboys and Indians. The historic Route 66 passes directly through the town which offers travelers shops, food and lodging. Hint: I saw a hotel for $3.50 a night.

The town is quaint and great for leisure strolls and shopping. The main part of town is only about 5-6 blocks long, but offers travelers a variety of authentic Southwestern trinkets to bring home. I love the beer here which is brewed by the Grand Canyon Brewing Company - Sunset Amber Ale is awesome.

Tomorrow we leave for the Grand Canyon and see the sights of the land.
